Lakeisha Swain, MA, LPC, LSATP
Executive Director
Hello, I’m Lakeisha, the Executive Director of Tandem Behavioral Health, and I can honestly say that I am living my dream job. My passion for helping others is what drives me every day—whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself or your family, or working through addiction, I’m committed to ensuring that you are treated with the utmost care, respect, and concern. Our team shares these values, and I personally hold our counselors and therapists to the highest ethical standards.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2015 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2018. In 2020, I expanded my expertise to become an LPC Supervisor, providing clinical supervision to Residents In Counseling to ensure that they are well-prepared, ethical, and effective as they work toward licensure. I’m proud to say that I personally supervise every resident at Tandem Behavioral Health, and I can attest to the knowledge, compassion, and professionalism they bring to the agency.
Alongside my work with those living with mental health challenges, I have a strong background in addiction treatment. As a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner with the Virginia Board of Counseling, I’m deeply committed to supporting individuals in their journey toward recovery. I’ve seen firsthand how transformative the process can be, and I believe that recovery is not only possible, but achievable for everyone.
When I’m not working, I cherish my time with my family—my husband, two adult daughters pursuing careers in healthcare, and my two four-legged sons, Bryson and Oscar. I also enjoy binge-watching Netflix series and indulging in my love for home decorating.
At Tandem Behavioral Health, we prioritize the well-being of each individual, and if you ever feel that your care doesn’t meet your expectations, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. I’m here to ensure that you receive the support and attention you deserve.
