Lakeisha Swain, MA, LPC,LSATP
Executive Director
Hello, I'm Lakeisha, the Executive Director of Tandem Behavioral Health, and I can honestly say that I am living my dream job. My passion for helping others is what drives me every day—whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself or your family, or working through addiction, I’m committed to ensuring that you are treated with the utmost care, respect, and concern. Our team shares these values, and I personally hold our counselors and therapists to the highest ethical standards.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2015 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2018. In 2020, I expanded my expertise to become an LPC Supervisor, providing clinical supervision to Residents In Counseling to ensure that they are well-prepared, ethical, and effective as they work toward licensure. I’m proud to say that I personally supervise every resident at Tandem Behavioral Health, and I can attest to the knowledge, compassion, and professionalism they bring to the agency.
Alongside my work with those living with mental health challenges, I have a strong background in addiction treatment. As a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner with the Virginia Board of Counseling, I’m deeply committed to supporting individuals in their journey toward recovery. I’ve seen firsthand how transformative the process can be, and I believe that recovery is not only possible, but achievable for everyone.
When I’m not working, I cherish my time with my family—my husband, two adult daughters pursuing careers in healthcare, and my two four-legged sons, Bryson and Oscar. I also enjoy binge-watching Netflix series and indulging in my love for home decorating.
At Tandem Behavioral Health, we prioritize the well-being of each individual, and if you ever feel that your care doesn’t meet your expectations, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. I’m here to ensure that you receive the support and attention you deserve.

Louis Eliacin, LPC
Clinic Director of Operations
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia with over nine years of experience in the behavioral health field, coupled with ten years of service in the United States Army, both on active duty and in the reserves. My professional journey has provided me with a comprehensive background in behavioral health through both outpatient and inpatient settings. I’ve also developed a deep understanding of medical treatment through my experience at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where I contributed to domestic operations. I have a strong track record of leadership, having supervised multidisciplinary teams that include clinicians, medical professionals, and administrative staff. I am honored to have received multiple Army Achievement Medals for my performance in high-demand environments, particularly for my work in Post Deployment Health Reassessment (PDHRA).
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master of Arts in Human Service Counseling with a focus on Addiction and Recovery, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Liberty University to further expand my expertise.
In my previous role as Clinical Supervisor at Lynchburg Comprehensive Treatment Center, I ensured the effective and efficient delivery of clinical services, overseeing the care of more than 500 active patients. I supervised a team of 11 counselors and 1 counselor assistant, providing individual and group supervision to ensure that treatment plans comply with DEA, CARF, State Licensure, and SAMHSA guidelines. I also conducted Quality Record Reviews for intake, interim, and discharge records and collaborated closely with the clinic director, nursing director, and regional leadership to ensure smooth operation.
Prior to being promoted to Clinical Supervisor at the Lynchburg Treatment Center, I worked as a Counselor at Lynchburg Comprehensive Treatment Center, where I provided outpatient counseling for individuals diagnosed with opioid dependency. I managed a caseload of over 60 patients, developing and documenting comprehensive treatment plans, conducting BPS assessments, and providing individual and group counseling. In addition, I assisted clients with goal-setting and the implementation of strategies to promote recovery.
As a Health Care Specialist and Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Program Coordinator in the United States Army Reserve, I led a program focused on integrating physical, mental, and spiritual wellness to enhance soldier readiness. I managed the medical readiness of over 80 soldiers, coordinated with medical and psychiatric support, and facilitated education on medical treatment procedures. This role enabled me to apply my skills in interdisciplinary collaboration while ensuring the well-being of my unit.
I also have experience working with National Counseling Group as a Community Counselor, providing therapeutic day treatment, crisis stabilization, and substance abuse treatment in the community. In this role, I worked closely with clients, families, and case managers to assess treatment progress and develop tailored treatment plans.
I am committed to expanding my knowledge and skill set through continuous education and professional development. I am a member of the Virginia Counseling Association (VCA) and the Central Virginia Addiction & Recovery Resources Coalition (CVARR), and I currently serve as the Treasurer of the Virginia Association of Medication Assisted Recovery Programs. Additionally, I hold certifications in Army Suicide Prevention (ASIST) and Holistic Health and Fitness Integration.
