What can I expect during my first session?
During your first session with your therapist you will complete a Biopsychosocial Assessment. This assessment will assist the therapist with gathering information about your current complaint, symptoms, mental health history, family history, and social history. You are only required to share what you are comfortable sharing, during this visit.
How long will I have to be in therapy?
Each therapist prioritizes having an individualized approach to therapy. This means that the time that you spend in treatment will vary upon several factors, some of which include: severity of symptoms, motivation for services, and treatment goals. Whether your therapy lasts a few weeks or several months, we will work alongside you to make sure that you get the most out of your experience.
I have not had success in therapy before, what makes this time different?
The driving force behind having a successful outcome in your treatment, is having a therapeutic relationship with your therapist. Sometimes, this means that it takes a couple of tries to find the, “right fit”. Rest assured that we will work with you to find a therapist that will work well for you, and if we do not have one on staff, we will work to find you a therapist outside of our agency.
